Terri Lee “Summers” Jech was born on October 20, 1966, in Tucson, Arizona, she was the beloved daughter of Jerry and Carolyn Summers and the spirited little sister to Carrie. A proud tomboy from the start, she was fiercely independent, stubborn in the best way, and loyal beyond measure. She was the “son her dad never had,” helping him in the yard, rooting for OU football, and never shying away from lending a hand—even helping her grandpa deliver pigs when others said she was too young. In 1977 her family moved to the small town of Cashion, Oklahoma where her grandparents farm was located.
Terri married Ronny Jech, in 1987, and together they raised two children, Lauren and Tyler, in Cashion, Oklahoma. She worked side by side with her mother running Miss Carolyn’s Restaurant in Guthrie, where her grit, kindness, and sense of humor were known by all who came through the doors. Terri was an extraordinary mother who poured her heart into every moment with her kids. From coaching teams to cheering in the stands at every game, there was never a moment she wasn’t there—supporting, guiding, and loving.
Her greatest joy, however, came with the arrival of her grandchildren. As “Glammy” to Linkin, Ledger, Leven, and Lennox, she was their biggest fan—on the sidelines of every baseball game, wrestling match, soccer, and football game, and every school function. Her love for them knew no bounds. Terri also served as a medical assistant at Elysian Wellness, where she worked alongside dear friends and took pride in caring for her patients. She celebrated other’s successes as if they were her own, and her heart was big enough to hold everyone’s dreams.
After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023, Terri faced each day with fearless strength, an infectious smile, and unwavering faith. She fought with both fists, radiating courage, grace, and humor throughout her journey. Strong doesn’t begin to describe her—she was unstoppable. Her faith in God never wavered, and those who walked this path with her stood in awe of her spirit. On June 18 her fight came to an end. As Jesus called her home she was surrounded by her family and closest friends, who showered her with love until the end.
Terri is survived by her loving mother, Carolyn Summers of Cashion; her sister Carrie Kaul of Cashion; her daughter Lauren Rother and son-in-law Landon Rother and their 4 children Linkin, Ledger, Leven, and Lennox Rother of Cashion; and her son Tyler Jech of Cashion. She is also survived by nieces Lacey, Jaryn, Jordan, and Taylor; nephews Bryce and Blake; and many other dear family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Jerry Summers; grandparents Bessie and Garvin Summers, and grandparents Cleve, Ovie Lee, and Kathrine Standridge and nephew Bausten Jech.
Terri’s strength, kindness, and fierce love will live on in all of us who were lucky enough to know her. Her legacy is one of unwavering support, boundless love, and joy in every little moment.
