Football season is almost here, and the Kingfisher Yellowjackets are ready to get back under the Friday night lights.
Kingfisher High School took the field Thursday, Aug. 27, for a preseason scrimmage against the Chickasha Chicks and Tonkawa Buccaneers.
The three-team matchup gave the Jackets another opportunity to get valuable reps, work on both sides of the ball and continue putting the pieces together before the regular season begins.
Thursday’s action marked Kingfisher’s second and final scrimmage of the preseason, wrapping up preparations before the games start counting.
Now, it’s time for the real thing.
The Yellowjackets will kick off the 2026 football season at home Friday, Sept. 4, when they welcome the Cashion Wildcats to Kingfisher.
The preseason work is in the books, the Friday night lights are waiting and another season of Yellowjacket football is ready to begin.
We’ll see you at the field. Go Jackets!
