I dressed as the Grinch and had to return a library book to the Kingfisher Memorial Library. After discovering a book written about how the Grinch stole Christmas, I had to hang out for storytime. Yes, my heart grew 3 sizes bigger seeing all the little Who’s! We sang songs, played instruments, colored Christmas ornaments to take home, and read how the Grinch stole Christmas. We tried to take pictures with everyone which turned into an adventure! Some of the little Who’s weren’t exactly sure about this picture thing. I mean seriously I’d have to think twice about getting close to a fuzzy green monster especially one that tries to steal Christmas! Through my trials wearing this oversized fuzzy green shammy, I realized why the Grinch is so Grinchy! First of all, I was very concerned we would face an epic failure with a bunch of scared little Who’s. There were costume malfunctions. Putting on the costume and trying to get the Velcro to close up the back took some yoga moves I didn’t know I had! I’m not going to lie, that’s a lot of green! I’m not even going to go into the crotch being down to my knees! We will just move on to the mask, it made my claustrophobic anxiety rise to a new level! I was very blind not being able to have my glasses on. At one point Mrs. Audry Sanders the children’s librarian had to rescue me by pulling down my mask. My sight had narrowed because I was looking through the mouth slit and not the eyes! Now I know why the Grinch had his sidekick dog, Max! Not sure if he was the seeing-eye or mouth dog!
Max wasn’t able to be with the Grinch today but stay tuned! To give me a break from wearing the mask and to show the little Who I was just a crazy lady dressed in a lot of Green the mask was removed. Besides, it gave me a chance to remove the green fur that somehow made its way to my mouth! The little Who’s and their Big Who’s are Violet Snow-Denise Boots, Jade Glazier-Diane Yost, Marley Matthews-Sydney Matthews, Paxton & Grayson Eppenbach- Mackenzie Eppenbach, Tate & Tucker Dobson- Megan Dobson, Gage & Ellie Vancleave- Leah Vancleave, Lucy, Duran & Daman Moulton, Ireland Kimbrell. Max and Grinch will have more adventures in the next few days so stay tuned! Note- if you notice the Grinch looking through the mouth of her mask…. Help a girl out!
