A tragic accident west of Kingfisher claimed the life of one person Sunday evening, June 15th. At approximately 7:10 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of an ATV accident near the intersection of Highway 33 and N 2800 Road, roughly four miles west of Kingfisher.
According to Kingfisher County Emergency Management, and OHP, an ATV entered Kingfisher Creek with three individuals on board. Two managed to escape, but the third was swept downstream by the current.
A massive search effort was quickly launched, involving first responders from across the region. Crews searched the creek area between N 2800 Road and Highway 81 for over two hours. Tragically, the third victim was found deceased at approximately 9:45 p.m.
Authorities have confirmed that the next of kin has been notified. No names or further details have been released at this time.
