A Union Pacific Railroad train derailed late Monday night, December 29, just north of Dover, according to authorities.
The derailment occurred shortly before midnight on private property between County Road 690 and County Road 700 along U.S. Highway 81. A spokesperson with the cleanup crew said they were called out around midnight to respond. No injuries were reported, and there was no damage to nearby property.
A large cleanup crew was on scene Tuesday morning using heavy equipment to clear the tracks. As of 10 a.m., officials said the track was expected to reopen shortly.
Kingfisher County Commissioner Mike Sparks told the All About Network he received a call around 3 a.m. requesting the temporary closure of County Road 700 at the railroad crossing to allow crews to work safely. County Road 700 has since reopened.
