While many are familiar with livestock shows featuring cattle, pigs, goats, and sheep, have you ever heard of a rabbit show? For the past 16 years, the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds has been hosting a state-wide rabbit show.
Families and students have traveled near and far. Some have driven as far as three hours to showcase their adorable rabbits in front of expert judge, Brigette Armstrong. Participants present their rabbits, highlighting everything from their ears to their tails, and explain how to assess for potential illnesses, identify the breed, and even count their lucky furry toes. This year’s event featured 74 rabbits, which is sadly lower than years past, and one tiny guinea pig.
All the participants demonstrated exceptional knowledge and expertise with their rabbits, from the first-timers to the experts in rabbit showing.
