Another major honor has been added to the list for Abbie Myers, and it is one of the biggest recognitions a high school basketball player in Oklahoma can receive.
After already being selected as an Oklahoma Coaches Association All-Star, Myers has now been called up to the prestigious OCA All-State team, where she will represent the Large West squad later this summer. The call-up places her among the top senior basketball players in the state and further cements what has already been a standout career for the Kingfisher senior.
For athletes across Oklahoma, earning All-State status is more than just another award. It is recognition from coaches statewide that a player has consistently competed at a high level, shown leadership, and made a lasting impact on their program. Being selected to the Large West team means Myers will compete alongside some of the best talent from across western Oklahoma in one of the state’s premier summer basketball showcases.
Myers has been no stranger to recognition this year. Earlier this spring, she earned OCA All-Star by Class honors alongside fellow Kingfisher standout Reese Roof, highlighting the tremendous success of the Lady Jackets basketball program.
Her senior season was filled with memorable moments, including clutch performances and leadership on the floor that helped keep Kingfisher competitive throughout the year. In January, Myers made headlines around Oklahoma high school basketball after hitting a game-winning buzzer beater and finishing with 26 points in a big performance that quickly spread across Oklahoma prep sports pages.
The honors have continued to roll in beyond high school basketball as well. Myers recently signed to continue both her academic and basketball career at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, taking her talents to the collegiate level next season.
For Kingfisher fans, the All-State call-up is another proud moment for a player who has represented her school and community with consistency, determination, and heart. From local tournaments to statewide recognition, Myers has built a career that younger athletes in the program can look up to.
As she prepares to suit up for the Large West All-State team later this summer, one thing is clear: Abbie Myers’ basketball journey is far from over, and Kingfisher will be cheering her on every step of the way.
