It may have been a quiet first inning, but the Kingfisher Lady Jackets were just getting warmed up.
Lily Voth got the bats rolling in the second with a solo home run to left field. Then the floodgates opened in the third. Kingfisher put five runs on the board, capped by Addison Johnson’s homer to center field. The Lady Jackets never let Clinton catch its breath.
They added three more in the bottom of the fifth, including Kendall Farrar’s home run to center, and walked away with an 11-1 win over the Clinton Red Tornados.
Three home runs. Eleven runs. One run allowed. That’s the kind of night that makes a softball team look dangerous heading into district play.
Voth, Johnson, and Farrar have been producing for Kingfisher for a while now—Voth as a dual-threat in the circle and at the plate, Farrar as a power bat, Johnson as a consistent contributor. Tuesday they all showed up in the same game and Clinton had no answer.
What’s next
The Lady Jackets hit the road today, Thursday, September 3, to take on the Woodward Boomers.
They return home Thursday, September 10, for their Pink Out game. Wear pink, pack the stands, and come cheer on the Jackets.
